| OUR VISION: "As members of His body, the Church, we present the saving power of Jesus Christ to rescue men from the consequences and ultimate penalty of sin and disciple them for victorious Christian living." Vision was at the heart of the establishment of the Market Street Mission in 1889. The Mission was founded by Morristown residents Dr. and Mrs. F. Owen in response to pleas from distraught wives whose husbands were addicted to alcohol. The Owens opened their home and began to offer classes for these women and later for their husbands. When the fledgling program outgrew the Owen home, the founders rented a small store on Market Street where they continued the classes and began to hold church services. |
